The Dara Samui Story: The story of Darasamui starts with Mr. and Mrs. Praisit and Gesinee Pangkanont, a couple working hard many years ago in Phuket, owning Tailor shops and Restaurants. Both Mr. Praisit and his wife Gesinee were actively involved in operating their businesses including cooking and serving food.

Koh Samui attracted them and they started to invest in some restaurants here on Samui, and soon they owned and operated a 3 star beach bungalow resort.

As the lease on their resort expired and their business in Phuket sold they were able to find the piece of land where Darasamui is located on today.

Recognizing a superior location Mrs. Gesinee started to develop the overall concept of Darasamui. As Mrs. Gesinee has an avid interest in Thai history and culture she thought of bringing the distinctive and unique , Northern Lanna Style Architecture” to Samui.

Hence Darasamui was born.

Recognizing that a 5 star resort needed a different expertise then their own, they appointed Mr. Daniel G. Fuchs as their Representative to look after the resort on their behalf.

Today Mr. Fuchs is actively involved in operating and managing Darasamui. Together with his team of highly capable individuals, upholding and promoting traditional Thai hospitality, yet respecting an international 5 star standard makes Darasamui truly unique.
